A hot end is part of a 3D printer that uses fused deposition modeling technology. The hot end is the part of the extruder where the ABS or PLA filament that is used to create the 3D object is heated and extruded layer by layer. The hole in the hot end where the filament is extruded may vary in size to create thicker or thinner layers of plastic.
