BYU Campus-wide Diorama

We recently completed the installation of Brigham Young University’s (BYU) Campus-wide Diorama. The diorama was commissioned to showcase the beautiful geography of the campus, especially the multitude of trees and their historical significance. Each of the 88 buildings is masterfully designed and crafted with state-of-the-art software and 3D printing technologies.

Our amazing team incorporated traditional model-making processes and a variety of 3D printing technologies to create realistic stone-looking buildings. Some of the fine details include vehicles driving on the road and in parking lots, bright autumn colors that come to life in the foliage, trees and flower beds and there’s even a hidden Easter egg. We added pre-programmed lighting controls for each of the buildings and incorporated an augmented reality app for the ultimate user experience. The 10 x 12 diorama is encased in custom-built cabinetry with glass walls so it can be viewed from all angles. To learn more, check out our Architectural Models page.
